Part-Time Pay Penalty
This examines the large pay differential between full-time and part-time
workingwomen in the UK. It assesses its cause and evolution over
time and what policies might be used to address it. It compares UK
performance in part-time work to that of EU countries.
The report is by Prof Alan Manning and Dr Barbara Petrongolo (Centre for
Economic Performance, London School of Economics). The Women and
Equality Unit commissioned it.

Gender Analysis of Expenditure Project (July 2004)
Gender analysis of expenditure is
one tool within a wide-ranging school of analysis called gender
budgeting. Gender budgeting provides a range of methodologies for
analysis of expenditure and revenue streams by gender, enabling
policy makers, analysts and Governments to understand any differential
impacts on men and women, boys and girls of policy decisions. This
pilot project demonstrates the value of gender analysis of
expenditure in some areas.

resource for teachers and personal advisers
(February 2004)
This pack is aimed at teachers, personal advisors
and those who work with young people aged approximately 14 years
old. Updated for 2004, the pack contains useful statistics and some general
information on International Women's Day, women in the labour
market, the gender pay gap, women's representation and domestic
violence. To assist teachers we have also included a number of
lesson plans to support each of the main topic areas.
