Take Part
Launched in October 2007,
the Women Take Part campaign will look at what currently exists to
help women from underrepresented groups into decision making, and
provide effective models and networks. A conference was held
in May 2008 to explore these issues, and the discussion will feed

to allow political parties to take positive measures to reduce inequality
in the numbers of men and women elected in local, national and European

Councillors Commission
The Commission on the role of local Councillors
was announced on 8 February 2007. The Commission published its
report in December 2007 which looked at the incentives and barriers
to serving on Councils, with an aim of
increasing diversity.
