Ministers for Women Priorities

One Year On progress report.

In July 2007 the Minister for Women and Equality, the Rt. Hon. Harriet Harman MP QC set out the Government’s priorities for women. She delivered an oral statement and published a written ministerial statement to the House of Commons announcing these priorities.

Following this a public consultation was led by the Women’s National Commission (www.thewnc.org.uk/) to seek the views of its members which was fed into the work to deliver these priorities.

The Ministers for Women and Equality have now published ‘Women’s Changing Lives’. This is a one year on progress report which charts the progress made on the priority areas. These are:

  • Supporting Families

  • Tackling Violence Against Women

  • Increasing the Representation of Black, Asian and minority ethnic women
